Lessons

Ridden lessons are usually carried out on a one to one basis.  This means that I can focus completely on you and your horse throughout the duration of the session. It is 'in the moment coaching'. It allows me to mark and give feedback to you where necessary and encourages you to talk to me about your noticing and/or experiences at any given time. It allows key words to be used to keep you on the right track with the aim that you can reproduce the work on your own at a later date.  I also have a personal sound system so your lesson can be 'private' and easily heard by you.
Ridden lessons can also be shared between two or more riders.  This can be really useful for jumping as the horses get a chance to have a short break and it can be a supportive atmosphere amongst riders, whilst having the opportunity to watch and learn from others.  I aim to give all riders an equal allocation of my time during shared lessons.  On the other hand, a shared flatwork lesson allows you time to go and practice what we have been working on and then to show me your practice.  This is good for riders who like to have sometime on their own to notice, discover and change things before representing to me.
