Very talented riders are able to do this unconsciously. For them, riding involves the right-hand hemisphere of their brains, This means that they store information as feelings and images. They naturally know how to organise and maintain, or change, their body to access positive work from their horse. Unfortunately these riders often have difficulty putting into language how they do this.

For the rest of us, riding is an activity which involves the conscious, left-hand hemisphere of our brains. This means that information stored has been learned by language and is therefore intellectual, logical 'know-how'. This then needs to be arranged so that it brings about the desired results. Skilled riding is a whole-brain activity, that which uses both left and right sides of the brain.

"Information, data and knowledge are 5 percent of your life; 95 percent is what you do with it in your mind." - Charles De Kunffy
I offer riders an effective, useable way to build upon their skill level, and the opportunity to improve and change in a supportive and engaging way. Amplifying the horse's gaits in a way which is not detrimental to his soundness nor well-being.
